How can I change the name on my Wi-Fi router? (See details)?
I've asked this before and I didn't get a good answer. I'm talking about the SSID number. I understand that it needs to be changed, plus, I'm not happy with the name assigned to it.

Easiest way is to press the reset button at the back of the wifi router, while the router is on, when the user ID and password will be reset to the default, generally admin. Refer your manual. Connect the WAN port of the router to the ethernet port of the computer. Then use the web based configuration page at 192.168.1.1. Refer your manual for correct address. If you do not have a manual search the web using ggogle for the user ID and password of your modem make and model number. Once the configuration page is open you can create a wifi connection by naming it - for eg. mywifi - and setting a password. Now save and log out. Then connect the router to the modem and the modem to the router. You have to enable the DHCP in your modem using its web based configuration page. If you still have doubts search the Yahoo answers. This question is answered a dozen times before.

Depends what brand your router is. Google the default IP address for your brand's router and usually it'll log you in. Once your inside just navigate to "wireless settings" and there you can change the SSID.
