Prom Hair And Makeup Advice :)?

Hello everyone :)

My prom is May 4th. I'm having a family friend do my hair and makeup, but the question is: what to do?

- This is my prom dress. It's not pink really, and it's not orange or red, it's a coral pink color, as you can basically see from the picture.

- This is the dress closer-up, it's not as pink as it looks, like I said it's coral, and that's the beading.

- This one is me, the most recent pic of me because I took it this morning :) This is what I usually look like. I'm blonde, blue eyes. That's my natural hair (it's usually brushed of course, I didn't have my brush near me) and my hair is naturally wavy like that, but it is able to be straightened successfully, and curled although it falls out sort of easily, but I have had it curled ;p I never wear makeup, this and my wedding will probably be some of the only times lol.

So, any advice? What to do with hair or makeup?

Pics would be WONDERFUL

Thanks :)

Do you like Hunger Games? The movie is out now, but briefly I during the trailer, I saw a girl with halo braids. I could be wrong. Do that! It took about 10 mins. Most of my hairstyles are for straight or curly long hair. Takes 2-10 mins. Finger style your hair, use bobby pins or smaller claw clips to support them there. Add bling for prom! You want to wear your hair like it's never done before. Think Red Carpet look.

    OR

    Long and keep them down.

A good example: Dancing with the Stars, PROM NIGHT 4-3-13. Watch the girls wear their hair during PROM NIGHT. All of them except one - Kelly Pickler's hair - have long hair!

"Usually a lot of people wear their hair down, but lately I've been seeing tons of updos because of the dress styles that are popular now," said Lathan.

Of course, many factors play a part in the decision of whether to wear hair up or down during prom. Lathan, who co-owns a wedding stylist business called Styles for Aisles, said the dress's neckline should play a big role in how a girl's hair is worn.

"If it's off the shoulder, a sweetheart cut or strapless, wearing your hair down would look the best," said Lathan. "For those that have a lot going on along the neckline or have a lot of jewelry, try an updo. When you spend $300 on a dress, you want to be able to see the details."

Between paying for the dress, nail care, make-up and more, many girls often take their hair into their own hands to save a little cash. While Lathan said an appointment with a professional hairstylist isn't a requirement to turn heads on prom night, there are several tips that girls should keep in mind when tailoring their own tresses.

    •Use good products:

For those wanting to make sure their look lasts through the night, Lathan recommends using Bed Head Masterpiece hair spray, which she says will keep your hair in place even after busting a move on the dance floor all night. In addition, Lathan said those hoping for a voluminous look should try Big Sexy Root Boost and Bed Head Small Talk.

    • Don't shampoo the night before:

While it may seem counterproductive, shampooing your hair the night before or the day of your prom could prevent your hair from holding well.

    • Get help so you can see the back:

Lathan said many girls perfect the parts of their hair they can see, but make the mistake of assuming the out of sight areas are just as well-groomed. Instead, have someone help you style your hair to make sure the entire head is flawless.

    • Choose simple styles:

While hundreds of hair tutorials where girls make the most complicated updos seem like a breeze are available on the internet now, it's likely that it took them more than one take to get it right. Instead, Lathan recommends selecting a simple style so you don't get frustrated or pressed for time on the big day.

I think you should pin your hair to the side and have loose beachy curls :) also with makeup just light makeup - like foundation that matches your skin tone a pretty eyeshadow and a light lipstick , and mascara , I wouldn't go too over the top but a bit of makeup so that photos look lovely :)

I would do some large curls or do a loose bun for your hair. For makeup, I say keep it fairly natural. Just use a few basic things like foundation/blush and you'll look nice. Maybe do light pink lipstick, but no eyeshadow.
