In terms of size, Analogy (w/ numerical support) Solar system, sun, star nearest sun?

In terms of size, use analogies from real life to draw comparisons for the following (justify each analogy with numerical support).

The star nearest tothe Sun is Proxima Centauri. Its diameter is about 15% of the diameter of the Sun.Astronomers measure the distance between stars inunits called light-years. A light-year equals 5.88 million million miles(9.46 million million kilometers). This is the distance light travels inone year at a speed of 186,282 miles per second (299,792 kilometersper second). Proxima Centauri is 4.3 light-years from the Sun. It is a dimred star in the constellation of Centaurus that lies at a distance of over 40 millionmillion kilometers, some 270,000 times greater than the distance between the earthand the sun.

The ratio of the Sun's radius to the Proxima Centauri's radius is

    1,392,000/194880 =7.14

This means the ratio of their volumes is 7.14x 7.14 x 7.14, which is about364.43,and that means that 364.43 Proxima Centauri should fit inside the Sun.

For the star system nearest us, Alpha Centauri A is slightly larger then the sun, Alpha Centauri B is slightly smaller. Proxima Centauri which orbits both A and B is substantially smaller then the sun. For other comparisons, watch this video:

It takes light 4.3 years to reach earth from Alpha Centauri, eight minutes to reach earth from the sun, ninety two million miles away.
