Are adopted puppys from a shelter (10-15 weeks) bad dogs? Also are older dogs 1-3 years old bad dogs?

Did you even read the answer I provided on your previous question?

To answer your question, no. They are not bad. Puppies might adjust to you faster, because they're still puppies, chances are they were either born in the shelter or surrendered there so early in life they don't remember anything but the shelter. If it's a good shelter, that means they won't have been abused, they won't have learned not to trust people, and they'll cozy up to the first person that takes them home and shows them individual attention. Even the dogs that are already 1+ year old are not bad dogs--they may be fearful, or distrustful, and maybe that makes them incompatible with inexperienced or first time owners, but with the right person, they can and will learn. They are not bad.

That's why the MOST important part of getting any dog, from any place, is that you do your research, preferably spend some time with the dog you're looking to adopt, and put in the extra time and effort to find the dog that is the right fit for your family. That the individual dog clicks with your family is even more important than the breed of the dog you've found, I dare say.

    No.

Shelters are full of amazing, sweet, perfect dogs that will make excellent pets. Both puppies and grown dogs.

SOME dogs in shelters and rescues have had hard lived, or haven't had much training, and these dogs may have some behavior problems, but ALL dogs need to be trained, no matter where they came from.

There are lots of older dogs in shelters that used to have homes where they were trained and very good dogs, but their owners had to give them up and they were left in a shelter. These dogs are fantastic. Unfortunately, everyone seems to want puppies, so these well behaved, sweet dogs who used to be loved tend to be looked over.

As for puppies. Getting a young puppy from a shelter would be the same as getting one from anywhere else. It will need lots of training and patience and will pee, chew, etc until it is trained.

There is no such thing as a bad dog. Dogs do what they have been taught. If a dog had a bad or irresponsible owner, they may not have the best manners, but they're still good dogs who can be taught!

Dogs love to learn and make their masters happy. Training a dog is a lot of work though. They don't think the same way we do, so they need consistency and patience.

I don't know about younger dogs, but I just adopted a dog from the shelter who is around seven years old. Of course, we don't know for sure, but that's what the vet estimated.

He's a great dog! He doesn't have any signs of aggresion and he's not afraid of people at all. He's a real peoples dog! He loves nothing better than to have a room full of people all giving him their full attention!

He was neglected in his previous home, but we don't think he was abused. It really depends on the dog you adopt. Every dog is different. But any dog can be turned around with a little love and attention!

Good luck! Hope it helped! God bless!

    Warmest Wishes,

    Kali

No, I rescued mine at a year old and he is amazing! He needed training (using the bathroom outside, not pulling on the leash, etc) but hes been in the shelter for a while so thats to be expected. Theyre all there for different reasons. Just ask the shelter for more information on a dog that catches your attention, and even one that doesnt.

Of course not! Any dog can be trained to be a good dog with the proper knowledge. Older dogs are great for first time dog owners, generally they a potty trained and know the basic commands like sit, stay, and etc. Puppies in general are a little bit harder you are training them a lot of the time and it can be a bit stressful if you haven't prepared yourself.

Before buying an dog/puppy look into training tips, good quality food (avoid foods like Science Diet, Purina, IAMS, Medi-Cal, and etc), vet cost, exercise requirements and all additional cost that go into owning a dog.

easiest answer no , you just need to spend time with them until you get to know them a little . A lot of the older dogs are already house broken and trained somewhat.

Nope, not bad dogs. Usually, they are either simply young adult dogs that have not been trained and have no manners, probably to much energy for the home, so they were dumped. As for pups....well, their innocent.

    Neither are "bad".

Shelters don't adopt out "aggresive dogs".
