Why does my computer just shutdown out of nowhere?

I have a somewhat old computer but recently there have been times where the computer is running perfectly fine and it just turns off. And it isn't a forced shutdown. The power to my computer literally just like stops. Theres a zapping sound and then suddenly everything loses power. At first I thought this was like a black out but every time I look down at the power strip and its still glowing green. What's wrong with my computer?

Update:

This isn't a power with overheating. It usually happens a few minutes after turning it on for the first time in the day

There are a few reasons behind it. Please check your circuit breaker and your power cord because some time circuit breaker trips because of huge load and also might cause your PC power supply which is located inside the PC. If these all things are fine then you mother board is broken so it's hard and expensive to fix it so you have to buy new one. If you are using an AMD processor so please turn off your temperature setting located in side boot menu then it will find.

This sounds suspiciously like a power failure. Try resetting the SMU (system power management) or get a new power block. Give me more details, man, so I can actually guide you step by step. I get back to you as soon as possible if you give more details.

It could be that your computer is overheating. You may need to reapply thermal paste to the CPU or replace some fans. Or maybe just clean the insides.

It could the processor fan problem. Sometimes due to dirt, it stops heat dissipation and hence the processor heats up, which in turn shut downs the system.

could be anything. Possibly the processor is overheating, you can monitor it with CPUZ. Could be a sudden short.
