How much would it cost me to sublet an apartment for 1-2 months in NYC?

Im planning on living in New York City for the summer, and I want to know how much it costs to sublet an apartment for 2 months or so?

How much would it be for a studio?

Any website I should start at? I never done subletting before, I currently live in California so I need to find one online.

Update:

Honestly, the last time I been to NYC was about 15 years ago when I was a kid, so I really dont know what parts of the city to avoid. Ideally I would like a place near public transit. Any suggestions on where I should stay??

Update 2:

Im looking to pay around $1,000 - $1500 a month. Not sure what that would get me but thats my budget.

If you r looking for something in the 1000-1500 range avoid manhattan cuz u wont find any apartments for tht price there. I'd try brooklyn or western queens (areas like astoria or woodside). U probably want to stay away from the bronx, its not that its particularly dangerous its just not tht safe. Staten Island is all houses. Personally id say something like crown heights or williamsburg in brooklyn are ur best bets

Every borough has public transit. For that kind of money you would get a half of a 1-bdrm. Dont use Craigslist. Check the Village Voice for sublets or contact property management co.

You won't find a sublet with your budget in Manhattan, if that's what you meant by "NYC". Look in Brooklyn or Queens or else consider a roommate. As Mr Opportunity suggested, try sublet.com or another legitimate site. AVOID Craigslist! You will get scammed.

I lived in Astoria Queens for 6 years. I took the N or R trains to huge apple the place I worked and became there in 10 minutes. long island city is likewise approximately 10 minutes from huge apple yet a splash greater costly than Astoria. you additionally can attempt many up and coming neighborhoods in Brooklyn like wyckoff, Williamsburg, Greenpoint. The rents in a number of those factors are greater fee-effective. inspect the listings at craigslist for those factors. in the adventure that your coronary heart is desperate on huge apple Harlem is easily dealing with a great transformation and is an exceptionally heat and nevertheless low fee section to stay at.

You could try VRBO.com or HomeAway.com, but I doubt you're going to find anything in that price range, at least not in Manhattan. Or, do a search on "NYC vacation rentals". But, as someone else said, don't use Craigslist!
