The Lyriad meteor shower?

Last night, my wife and I went into my back yard to observe the Lyriad meteor shower (forgive me if I spelled Lyriad wrong, there is a few different spellings of it). She inflated her bed, and I layed on my sleeping bag; to look up without my neck getting bent. Because the moon was really bright we only saw a few meteors. Did any body else (We live on the Pacific North West) see many meteors?

Update:

My wife and I saw big meteor last night- only one though. Thank you for your answer. Once, we watched the peresied meteor shower (hopefully spelled right as there are a few spellings for it). It was a glorious meteor shower. We watched the shower all night. We were in paradise as we saw hundreds of meteors blast through the earths atmosphere. I guess glory has its limits. Peace be with you.

    I didn't bother trying to view it,

    both because the moon *was* so bright, and, I was TIRED! (;

    I did seem to see several meteors one night (as a kid who just happened to be outside that particular night & gazing up), one of which went in the opposite direction from the others, and which at one point began leaving a very jagged path until it too disappeared. My sister thinks that must have been something man-made that went awry. (This must have been in the 60s).
