In triangle SUN, A is the midpoint of line SU and B is the midpoint of line NU, if AB=3x-1 and SN=7x-5, find x.

The answer is 3. How do you get that.

If you draw the picture, you notice that AB and SN are parallel. There is a property of triangles where the line created by the midpoints of two sides is twice as long as the third side, so
2(3x-1) = 7x - 5
6x - 2 = 7x - 5
x = 3
