What's the old Appalachian blues song about the witch asking if the man has money for her?
My friend was telling me about a blues or slow bluegrass song where a woman asks a man if she has money for him, to hold it close so she can see it, and he reveals that he has a rope to hang her for being a witch. I've been diving into blues and bluegrass lately, and this sounded really interesting, but I can't seem to find any reference of it. Anyone know what this is?
My friend found it. Not so old, though it could be a cover. "The Gallows Tree" by Tim Eriksen.

If the song is "The Maid Freed From The Gallows", it's very old indeed. Here are some other versions (it seems no two sets of words, or even titles, are exactly the same)
