New version of Yahoo! mail? (see details)?

Yahoo! has sent a notice that they will be upgrading it's mail system. Once again, from what I understand, it will change whether we want it to or not. No choice. First, can I keep my Yahoo mail like it is or is that possible without installing another program? Secondly, if I choose to change it and don't like it, can I get my current version back? Third, if I do not accept the invitation to upgrade, what will happen? I want to know before the change gets here. HELP!

    1. The email (I got what's probably the same one) makes it sound like there won't be a choice; "After this time, your current version of Yahoo! Mail will no longer be available." and so on. Then again, they've threatened us similarly before and classic still works, so who knows.

    2. I would suggest you don't try. At least right now, if you've stuck with classic you can continue to do so until the big switch; but if you look at the published questions, they're full of people who are trying to switch back to classic and can't. If you want to poke around the new version, just make a new email account and play with that.

    3. I'm wondering this too. I'm *hoping* the worst that happens will be we're switched over from classic to new against our will, but I'm also afraid if I'm still in classic come the deadline, something might happen to my saved messages/drafts/etc.

No answer but I agree. I have used Mail Classic for years and although the system has been upgraded in the past I have always reverted to Mail Classic. I HATE all the new versions and feel thoroughly aggrieved that yet again Yahoo forces changes on us.
