    In those situations there's always more to the story than "GTA made him do it, case closed". I think it's silly how the media scapegoats video games for this kind of thing, when there's obviously a much bigger issue at hand.

    A lot of this just comes from people who haven't played video games themselves and don't understand them, so criticise them when they're looking for something to blame.

    It's a parent's responsibility to make sure that their kids are playing video games that are appropriate for their age. For example, not giving Grand Theft Auto IV to a 10 year old, when there's a big red 18+ logo on the back, front and side of the box with a description on the back saying "Contains strong violence...". In the same way that you wouldn't let kids watch a movie they're too young for.

    I wouldn't assume that all games are about killing things and blowing stuff up either, some people assume that when they haven't played video games and have only seen adverts for games like Call of Duty, but it's definitely not the case and there are hundreds of games about a variety of different things, not just military shooters. :)
