Are you terrified of your microwave...?
So I stopped eating food heated in the microwave because of its effect on food. I've become extremely paranoid of the food I eat. Don't get me wrong I still eat gross ( unhealthy) food from time to time. But the microwave has me disgusted. Is there anybody else that won't eat food out of the microwave??

I have a hot pink Hello Kitty microwave that is a hand-me-down from a sorority sister who graduated last year, and yes it does terrify me. Imagine what a bow-headed cat looks like in the middle of the night when it's only illuminated by the light of the clock. I've never been concerned about eating microwaved food. My mom's a neurologist and someone I tend to trust when it comes to medical matters, and she has been nuking our food for years. Microwaves have been commonly used for decades now, and numerous researchers have studied whether the type of radiation used by them could be harmful. The overwhelming majority agree that it's not, and that there is no link between the use of a microwave and cancer. Obviously, you're going to find the fringe minority who disagree with those legitimate findings when you're on the internet. These same people often claim other radiation-producing gadgets increase your risk of cancer, but I'm betting you're not terrified of your phone, your laptop, or your TV.
The word radiation tends to make people's eyes go o.O and become alarmed, so when they hear that a microwave heats food through radiation they assume that it's dangerous. What they're not realizing is that radiation is simply the release of energy from any source. Our bodies radiate energy. So does the sun. The laptop or desktop you're using to read this answer is beaming radiation. You're not scared of your computer, are you? Heaps of things in life emit non ionizing radiation, so you're constantly exposing yourself to it regardless as to whether you ever use a microwave. That type of radiation is non-ionizing, which is totally different from ionizing radiation. The genetic material of your cell (DNA) is very sensitive to ionizing radiation, and excessive exposure to it can change your DNA, potentially causing the development of cancer. It is *not* damaged by the non-ionziing radiation of a microwave oven. Microwaves don’t give off enough energy to damage the genetic material in your cells, so they cannot cause cancer. All they do is heat food, and they do not make any changes to it that aren't made in any other cooking method.
Some people simply dislike the way a microwaves heats food and prefer other cooking methods. That's fine. If you don't want to use a microwave, then don't, but please don't abstain from using it because you think it's going to cause cancer or be like the boogeyman of appliances or something.

You bet! I'm terrified of the microwave, alright. Every time my wife uses it. When she tries to set the "kitchen timer" function, like for soft-boiling eggs or some other non-microwave use, she sets the cook timer instead and turns on microwave power with nothing inside. Time for a new microwave. Or she'll cook microwave popcorn, and although the instructions say to monitor the cooking the entire time, she'll go check email while the bag catches fire. Thank goodness for smoke alarms. Time for a new kitchen. Or she'll heat frozen pizza in the microwave even though the instructions specifically say to use a regular oven and not a microwave. Time for take-out Chinese food.
Life must have been so much easier before microwaves.

Microwaving food does not cause cancer. And neither does standing next to a microwave oven. In fact microwaves have far less energy than ultraviolet light, visible light and x-rays. Microwaves aren’t strong enough to damage DNA.
Microwaves get absorbed by water, fats and sugars in the food, and this is what generates the heat which cooks the food. The moment the oven is turned off, the microwaves that were produced are long gone (The lifetime of a microwave is about one millionths of a second).
The argument can be made that microwaving food reduces the risk of cancer. We know that “heterocyclic amines” (which again are potentially carcinogenic) can be produced when grilling or frying meat and poultry. In this study: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7959444 the researchers looked into what happens if you microwave food before frying. They found that these potential carcinogens were lost with the juices. So this study supports the theory that cancer risk is reduced by microwaving food before grilling/frying.

I am 26 weeks into my 2nd pregnancy and look to have weird goals all night time long each night. I was that identical last time though. Normally, they may be no longer in regards to the child in any respect. A couple of nights ago I had a dream that my fiancé (we've got been dwelling collectively for three years and have a 17 month old son together already) married any individual else! He simply advised me he was marrying anybody and he used to be relatively cold and far-off... Left me and our two toddlers in a motel room at the same time he went as much as the honeymoon suite with his new woman! It relatively upset me and i aroused from sleep crying. I had a dream the opposite night that i might given start but couldn't recollect any of it. I simplest knew it had happened given that I was in hospital and wasn't pregnant anymore and had some congratulations cards. I was quite upset and burdened that i could not don't forget going into labour, not ever intellect giving start... And the place was the baby? Eventually, my fiancé took me to see the baby in this unusual room and it was just a bit plastic toy (now not even a doll... Only a black haired plastic man with a tremendous grin!). I mentioned this isn't my child... The place is he? No person would answer me or explain, they only insisted that toy was once my little one. Then after looking for hours, I noticed a room full of toddlers and walked towards the door to go inside and to find mine... But suddenly all of the nurses and midwives turned and charged closer to me with knives and bricks.... Then I woke up! These dreams don't seem to be fun... I spend most days style of stuck within the surroundings of a scary or simple bizarre dream! I wouldn't fear that anything is improper though... You by and large had that dream considering the fact that you are worried already! I believe bizarre desires are extra fashioned in pregnancy as you sleep relatively poorly (i know I get cramps, heartburn, have to rise up to pee and so forth)... So that you wake up and have/recollect much more of your dreams.

No, I am not terrified of my microwave oven. I use it to heat up food all the time.

Just for entertainment purposes, I actually am more intelligent than to be scared of food and to think this is remotely humorous or entertaining.
lol well it's the thought that counts!
