Pool question about in ground pool and adding chemicals?

Can you add liquid chlorine into a pool then pour in some powdered shock afterwards or will that be something you don't want to do? I figure they are both chlorine so it would be alright, but I want to check first. And yes I looked on the computer but did not find the right advice. Any help ?

liquid disperses evenly while pumped; I use tabs in a floating basket, which dissolve slowly.

Most shock comes in liquid, I would not use powdered shock as it could bleach the color of the liner.

whatever you do, keep track of the chems with test kits.

It should be alright as you stated, however, I am not an expert on pool shock treatments and apparently you aren't either.

Soooooooooooo, here's the easiest solution to your problem. Pick up the phone and call a pool store and ask them. Better yet take a sample of the pool water in a clean jar to the pool store and they will test it and tell you exactly what and how much to put in it. Most do not charge for this service.

i would not start up including chemicals mutually as the pool is filling up. you could injury the lining and waste funds on chemicals. For undemanding maintenance one or 2 chlorine pills in a skimmer in case you have one. in case you do not have a skimmer you ought to positioned funds right into a inline chlorination equipment. particularly that's a skimmer w/ out the basket and is indifferent from the pool w/ a hose to gradually upload chlorine. stunning a pool is carried out w/ chlorine granules and could be left to run over evening. including chlorine in the process the warmth of the day isn't as efficient. Swimming after stunning should not be a controversy if performed to the above training. clinical care of pool water comprises greater beneficial than basically straight away shocks. pH, alkalinity, acidity, loose chlorine and lively chlorine all have a delicate stability. The smaller the pool length the greater sturdy to maintain maintained.

Yeah, it's fine. But you should dissolve the granular chlorine in warm water then put it in the pool away from the filter basket. The granules typically don't dissolve very quickly and sink to the bottom of the pool discoloring the liner.

And never put the chlorine directly in the basket, it's very acidic and will eat away at the pipes and pump
