borderlands 2: can i download something while playing borderlands 2 on ps3?

here lemme justify
so im downloading the dlc for it- internet is super slow. its gonna take me 4 hours to download Mister Torgue thingy. and i will have nothing to do during that time. heres my question: if i play offline, by my self, does that give me a chance to play Borderlands 2 while downloading something?

While downloading the dlc you should get a "download in background" option if you do get that, select it and go back to.your gaming. If you don't get the option then you'll have to wait.
