As an Elite Member of the Mbam Forum, I can assure you, Norton is full of it.
Does Malwarebytes Anti-Malware replace antivirus software?
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is not meant to be a replacement for antivirus software. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is a complementary but essential program which detects and removes zero-day malware and "Malware in the Wild". This includes malicious programs and files, such as virus droppers, worms, trojans, rootkits, dialers, spyware, and rogue applications that many antivirus programs do not detect or cannot fully remove. That being said, there are many infections that Malwarebytes Anti-Malware does not detect or remove which any antivirus software will, such as file infectors.
It is important to note that Malwarebytes Anti-Malware works well and should run alongside antivirus software without conflicts. In some rare instances, exclusions http://vmsar.wordpress.com/2012/12/12/malwarebytes...

Norton is just telling you that there could be a conflict with malwarebytes. I got the same thing and just click on ignore. After that it did not warn me anymore. Since I rarely use malwarebytes, I could uninstall it but I keep it just and case and honestly I've never needed it.

Obviously Norton 360 is a big jerk. Malwarebytes would never have such thing. I heard of Norton say that AVG is a virus once.
It's almost completely useless, it scans everything and calls everything that wasn't in the computer in the first place except for AVG a virus, you could say.
