Can I contribute to my child's IRA?

My daughter is 18 years old and has a job on her college campus, thus giving her earned income. I doubt she will earn enough to maximize ($5K) her IRA contribution. Can I give her the remaining balance?

Yes, you can give her money so she can contribute to the IRA.

However, if she earns $2000, her maximum contribution is $2000.
