So, this is how popular the Izod Indycar Series has become these days?
There aren't even any troll questions here!
Robin, judging by your answer, I don't think you even know the true meaning of the term redneck. Just because millions of people enjoy NASCAR racing, myself included, it doesn't make us ignorant. In fact, I'd guess that the majority of us, myself included again, also enjoy and participate in other forms of motorsports too.
It seems like many people think that only beer drinking, lower class people could possibly enjoy something like NASCAR racing. That's a typical stereotype that is highly played up by the broadcast media. But, answers like yours just promote another stereotype-that Indy and Formula One type fans are all rich, fat, champagne swilling snobs with more money than they know what to do with.
It seems like you might just be the ignorant one here, not the "rednecks".

I'm European and I though that Indycar had a lot of fans in the United States, but when I came for the first time in U.S. Answers I realized my opinion was wrong.
It's a shame that a really good series as Indycar is not so popular, neither in Europe nor in America, but I'm even more shocked by realizing that it seems that Indycar fans, F1 fans and Nascar fans seems to be used to criticize each other.
I never watched Nascar (in my country it's even less popular than Indycar) but why should Nascar fans be considered ignorant? In my opinion someone who likes Nascar could like even Formula 1 or Indycar.
Personally I'm a F1 fan since my childhood and I spent the past 20 years watching F1, and I started to watch Indycar when one of my favourite F1 drivers moved to Indycar; I think that it's a really good series and I think that motorsport fans should be more respectful of others.

it's a shame that nobody cares about such a great racing series. i guess the death of dan wheldon deter most to watch the indycar series in fear that they have to see this happen (again). but still the most don't watch it because they are ignorant rednecks who refuse to watch anything what is not called nascar (or football)
