What is the best season to have a wedding in Paris?

We want to have a wedding in a chateaux near Paris, does anyone know the best season for this?

Between April and June any ideas what part of the month is good also? such as the beginning or middle or even end of a month?

You can hold a wedding reception in a chateau but you cannot be married there. By law all marriages have to take place in a Town Hall in France and must be performed by a French civil authority, namely the mayor (or his deputy) of the area in which one wants to be married. One of the parties must have resided continuously for at least forty days immediately before the date fixed. This precludes a wedding in Paris in the case of parties only visiting for a short stay. All foreign nationals marrying in France must comply with this requirement. The "mairie" where the civil ceremony takes place is dictated by the place of residence.

French law also requires the posting of marriage banns at the appropriate "mairie" no less than ten days preceding the date of marriage. The first publication of these can be made only at the end of thirty days of residence in France by one party. The mairie may require the complete marriage file to be presented 10 or more days prior to the publication of Banns.

Most "mairies" in France require some or all of the following documents: The list below is only illustrative.

•A valid passport or a French residence permit .

•A birth certificate less than 3-month-old along with a sworn translation from a sworn translator. Sworn translators are listed at every "mairie". The Foreign embassies also have a list. The Embassy does not provide translation services. Some city halls may accept an affidavit ("Attestation d'identité et de nationalité") executed before a Consular officer in France. This is because the information on foreign birth certificates differs from that provided on French birth certificates.Individuals born outside France must generally submit additional information about their marital status..

    • French city halls also usually require a Certificate of Celibacy less than 3-month-old . It can be done in the form of an affidavit ("Attestation tenant lieu de Certificat de Célibat ou de non-remariage") executed before a Consular officer in France. There is a fee . Keep in mind that some city halls do not accept affidavits and have special requirements.

•An Affidavit of law ("certificat de coutume") is sometimes required by some Mairies in addition to the Affidavit of Marital Status. The Affidavit of Law is a statement about foreign marriage laws, certifying that the Australian citizen is free to contract marriage in France and that the marriage will be recognized in Australia. Only an attorney licensed to practice in both France and abroad may execute this document. The Affidavit of Law is prepared on the basis of the attorney's examination of the individual's documentation (divorce decree, death certificate of spouse, etc.), and verification and citation of the applicable marriage laws of a foreign state.

    • Each party to marriage must obtain a pre-nuptial medical certificate ("certificat d'examen médical prénuptial") less than 3-month-old attesting that the individual was examined by a doctor "en vue de mariage." Marriage banns cannot be published until medical certificates have been submitted to the "mairie." The certificates must be dated no earlier than two months before the publication of banns. Any qualified doctor can perform the medical examination (the Embassy publishes a list of English-speaking doctors).

The individual coming directly from abroad can be medically examined by a physician approved by the local French Consulate (usually, a list of such physicians is furnished by the Consulate) back home. However, it should be noted that authorities in France require that the original certificate be in the French language, or that an official translation notarized by a French consul in Australia be submitted with the certificate in English. The two-months limitation of validity also applies in such a case.

•Proof of domicile ("justificatifs de domicile")

You will need to bring 2 documents proving your domicile in the city of marriage (i.e.: electricity or telephone bills, rent, etc.)

•Certificat du notaire (if applicable) if you want a pre-nuptial agreement.

May is a very popular month for weddings and reception venues get booked months and even years in advance.

One of our daughters got married at the mairie of the Paris area where we live. We held the reception at a chateau-hotel outside Paris which we had had to book a year ahead, including reserving a block of rooms for guests and a very hefty deposit. The religious ceremony took place at the local church just before the reception.

Frankly it would be easier to get married where you live, come over on honeymoon, arrange with your chateau hotel for a ceremony where you could renew your vows, or if you are religious, arrange a ceremony in a church on production of your original marriage certificate.

white & pink with dissimilar pink lace, and black embelishments. black and white may be stable for the bridal occasion.. If I have been a guy and did no longer like white or silver, i might do blue/military or khaki with black/creme trim
