Are NCO's allowed to trash soldiers barracks room?

Im an AIT Platoon SGT. When I go inspect my Soldiers rooms and I find an unsecure wall locker or a full trash can, they tend to find the contents scattered about the room when they return. If I walk into a Soldiers room and its nice and clean I leave it that way because trashing it for fun would be considered harrasment or hazing.

I have seen this before. The CSM moved the bed looking for dust bunnies and he found them. Another 1SGT threw the trash across the room because it was suppose to be emptied before inspection and the soldiers NCO threw the pizza box as well.

If the room is not properly clean than you give the the right to mess up your room some more since you like to live in a pig stye.

Of course they are! In Basic Training, that was a daily occurrence the first week or so. And once you complete your training, NCO's may continue to train you to keep your room clean.

It can happen at other times, too, such as Health and Welfare Inspections, preparatory inspections in advance of a Battalion Command or Inspector General Inspection.

they can in any situation that would not be deemed harassment by the military. If your room is not up to standard and your NCO came in and trashed it, then he would be within his rights. If he walked into your room daily and trashed it because he didn't like you for a personal reason, then he would not be in the right.
