Get the Nikon for better image quality, better low light condition, more dynamic range, video autofocus, larger sensor, more AF points, faster shoots, longer battery life and portability.

Get the Canon if you want larger viewfinder, touch screen, and flip-out screen.

I prefer Nikon hands down, besides the slightly higher res screen on the Canon and a few other bits you'll never use/need the Nikon is better but its all about which you feel comfortable with, go to a store and try both of them, it all depends on which feels better in your hands. From what i see they're pretty similar.

Find a dealer, handle them and find out - I'd go for the Pentax K-30 over either, but I have a brain.
