If Rebublicans are racists, why don't they attack Clarence Thomas?

A: Because he's conservative.

I'm getting sick of hearing that Republicans don't like Obama because he's black. That's ridiculous. They don't like him because he's liberal. If he was a conservative, they'd be building monuments to him, and having statues made.

Calling people names like "racist" isn't intelligent political discourse. It's childish.

What would be the point of anyone attacking Clarence Thomas? He will be a supreme court justice until he dies or retires and there isn't anything anyone can do about it.

B: Because he is on the Supreme Court, and "attacking" him would be just as pointless as attacking Justice Breyer.

Proof the Republicans are racist is easily found at any Tea Party rally or in the 2000 South Carolina primaries.

During the 2000 Republican presidential primary, Senator John McCain was the victim of a whisper campaign from the Bush campaign implying that McCain had fathered a black child out of wedlock. (McCain's adopted daughter is a dark-skinned child from Bangladesh). Voters in South Carolina were reportedly asked, "Would you be more likely or less likely to vote for John McCain if you knew that he fathered an illegitimate black child?". McCain would later lose the South Carolina primary, and the nomination, to George W. Bush.

In addition, on the week of the nomination vote, dozens of radio stations were called on the same day asking talk show hosts what they thought of McCain's fathering of a black child out of wedlock. McCain later said of the incidents:

"There were some pretty vile and hurtful things said during the South Carolina primary. It's a really nasty side of politics. We tried to ignore it and I think we shielded [our daughter] from it. It's just unfortunate that that sort of thing still exists. As you know she's Bengali, and very dark skinned. A lot of phone calls were made by people who said we should be very ashamed about her, about the color of her skin. Thousands and thousands of calls from people to voters saying, 'You know, the McCains have a black baby.' I believe that there is a special place in hell for people like those."

So, obviously, Republican John McCain is not a racist. But, there are a lot of racists in the Republican Party. If you refuse to believe that, you are just deluding yourself.

Which party is a racist going to join, after all?

    Most Republicans aren't racist.

But when you fund people who scream the infamous n-word on the Capitol lawn, you are kind of asking for that label.

    We don't because we aren't.

I said it before, and I will say it again. I am Irish, Syrian, and Israeli. I am Republican. I am - by heritage - Catholic, Muslim, and Jewish. I am Republican. I choose to be atheist. I am Republican. I am pro-Choice. I am Republican.

    I hated Bush Jr. I am/was Republican.

I hate Obama. I am Republican.
