Do you believe that players with low basketball IQs tend to be poor free throw shooters?
Sometimes I look at some of the worse free throw shooters in the league who arvg. 50-60% and I see that these are the same guys who always seem to make bone headed plays during games.
A great example would be Josh Smith. Smith makes a lot of poor decisions on the court like taking a contested three late in the game even though thats not his shot. He's only shooting 51.7% from FT.
Do you it has anything to do with their work ethic overall. I mean if you're being paid millions, should you be smart enough to atleast practice your free throws?
Actually another argument can be made for those super athletes like Blake Griffin, Josh Smith, Andre Iguodala, Javale McGee and etc.

Yeah I see what your saying look at Reggie Evans. He shoots around 50% from the free throw line. You would think he'd learn how to use the same stroke everytime if he had a better basketball IQ. Same thing with Dwight Howard he relies heavily upon his athletic ability so other areas of his game get put on the back burner. Like post moves and the big one free throws.

What about Shaq, He was a smart player and sucked at free throws, And Andrew Bynum, He made horrible decisions even shot a 3 pointer, But Kobe said he is a consistent free throw shooter, Mostly big men shoot bad free throws because they have "big hands" But really it is because they were never taught when they were younger, Whenever your a big man playing in 6th 7th 8th grade etc, Your not taught to shoot, Your taught to post up and rebound! The only good big man shooters are the ones who take time out at home to work on it, Shaq tried different free throw coaches for 19 years and he said none of them worked, If he would have practiced them when he was younger he would have muscle memory to remember, But that is what i think

No, I think the 'bigs' are more deficient free-throw shooters. Shaq and others have said so, too.
