Good laptop for college engineering student?

I will be majoring in mechanical engineering at Arizona State. I went through the school website and they have programs for discounts on Dell and Apple laptops...but I would like some suggestions on a solid laptop that will last.

Hi. What kind of programs are you planning on using. If you need to use CAD then you may need at least 4GB of Ram, but i would suggest a lenovo Z580 or the Lenovo G580 (if you are on a lower than 400 dollar budget). You should go on Newegg.com they have some good deals and good selections.

Well i can help you a whole lot on the choice for picking the laptop but I would recommend upgrading the Ram (its really easy) and possibly the hard drive (for more memory) or just get lots of usbs lol . Doing those things will make it run faster so you can focus more on ur work than ur **** not working..

The HP Dv5T is an outstanding selection. For $1500 you ought to get a center 2 duo 9000 sequence processor and 512mb pictures card, in case you so elect. as long as you get a pc with committed pictures and 2GB or extra of RAM you're able to be wonderful (extra in case you opt to sense extra suitable risk-free). yet another selection is the Dell Inspiron 1530. those are the two 15" strategies if this is the dimensions you desire.
