    My top contenders:

Sir Alex Ferguson: Brushed Man City aside to be clear winners of the PL. They were also unlucky against Real Madrid and I think would have given Borussia Dortmund more of a run for their money than Mourinho's side did. I think it would be a fitting tribute to give it to him given what's gone on today (I'm a Liverpool fan by the way)

David Moyes: Seemed to have proven me and a lot of others wrong by giving a genuine challenge to a top four finish. It was only official with three games left to go that they would miss out. Moyes has had so little to spend in comparison to Tottenham, Liverpool and even QPR. Everton failed to run out of steam when everyone predicted it, surely better things are on the horizon for Mr Moyes.

Michael Laudrup: Another strong mid table finish and became the first Welsh side to win the League cup. People forget that a team's second season in the PL is normally the hardest, although they never looked in trouble despite selling some of their best players last year.

Rafa Benitez: This will perhaps surprise some people, but I think the way he conducted himself when he was being abused by his own fans every week, was undermined by the board with his 'interim' tag and how he turned a failing team around to be a very competent force was first class. Chelsea got to the FA cup Semi final, Europa League final (which they could win) and I think will get a top four finish. This man is not a mug and has turned Chelsea's fortunes around and got the best out of Torres.

I really wanted to say Steve Clarke but his team ran out of steam later on in the season and they have only won once in the last six games (losing four times).

However, Moyes has did a great job this season too.
