Lets see 2 reasons
1. History, since all through time Christians or Christianity has been the reason for murder, rape, pillaging and general human suffering.
2. Who wouldn't be scared of a bunch of weird @$$ people who talk to fairy tales, pray to imaginary friends, think their god lives in the sky, think their dead relatives are looking down at them from a mythical place, and think we have souls. Trust me I have taken anatomy college level and never once did they mention a soul as part of it.
