Heart Beats Hard When I Lay Down?

First off, I'm only 14.5 years old male, but I'm very mature. I'm 6'1", people think I'm in college sometimes. So you have the idea.

Well, for the past year or so I have been having problems. When I lay down my heart beats harder, quite hard. And it is typically inconsistent in rythym. But when I get up, it's all normal. I typically consume m2-3 caffeinated drinks a day. Usually Mtn Dew or. Coca Cola. I've heard this can be caused by stress. YES, I am under a lot of stress. My older brother has been struggling with drug addiction & it is very hard on me & my family. He is doing much better now, has been clean since January. I also dealt with the death of my grandpa 2 weeks ago. I'm under a pretty good amount of stress. I know you'll say "You're only 14, you shouldn't be stressed. You shouldn't have worries. You're not old enough to know." HEY, I'm really mature. Will you please be serious in your answers? Thanks, I appreciate it.

Also: I am socially accepted & liked by many people. I have quite a few friends. So I'm not stressed over anything to do with my relationships.

Being mature or not has nothing to do with how much stress you're under. A 14 year old can have as much or more stress as a 30 year old.

The problem is the Mountain Dew and Coke you're drinking. They are full of caffeine and can cause your heart to beat hard and out of rhythm. My body is very sensitive to caffeine and I can't have any at all. Just cut out all your caffeine and your heart should return to beating as normal. Coca Cola has a caffeine free option that you should try. It tastes exactly like the original but it won't drive your heart crazy.

that soda is the major problem here. All those soda have caffeine and other bad things in them, like processed sugar. Those two stimulants can reek havoc on the body. Its speeds up the heart, increase breathing rate, rise the blood pressure, damage the pancreas, and damages the kidneys. So, you should think about drinking soda next time, or even eating the wrong stuff. You dont want to be 18 with a health problem.
