Expect the unexpected. The state kinda matters, but not really, you called it a Correctional Facility, that means it is a CCA thing, another Corporate Warehouse for human beings.
Be right, be aware, know that a medium security prison is a prison.
Do not be scared, any animal can sense fear.
Know your surroundings, be aware, use wisdom.
