Fitting a bafhroom cabinet.?

.im wondering what the best way woukd be to fix a wall cabinet when the wall is plaster board fixed onto an exterior brick wall. I cant use hollow wall fixings and im not sure how to secure into the brickwork as its sitting a few inches behind the plaster. Do you get long plugs or could I screw straight in?

here we go...from what i understand a coach bolt is like a european name for a lag bolt....that wont work cuz lags are for anything going into wood....metal fixture to wood, plastic to wood, wood to wood....what you want are mason screws....you have to use a slightly smaller mason bit, (drill bit)to drill into the brick and follow that up with a good 3 inch mason screw...most wall cabinets have only a thin backing so you have to screw into the top and bottom stiles and even when you do everything right sometimes a mason screw just doesnt take, so i would put four in the top and four on the bottom just to make sure...most bath cabnets are used for towels and such but if your putting any kind a weight in it they also make anchors to go into brick so if you that way put two anchors on top, and two screws and four screws on the bottom....or...if the cabinet is alone hanger, (not joining other cabinets)have another back cut out from a 4x8 sheet or whatever you can come across and place that over the thin backing and screw that onto the top and bottom stiles and then you can put as many screws as you want to with it and your just not limited to the top and bottom stiles...so what you need is ,,,,a mason bit, mason screws, and if you choose, you can get anchors and /or a thicker backing of 1x to screw on the back before you hang it...its not a hard job at all, just a matter of using the right tools and hardware which any hardware store will carry....you can probably find some video on ehow or youtube of someone going into brick with a cabinet...just dont try to screw into the plaster board cuz even if it feels like its going to stay, it wont....and not if but WHEN it falls it will probably land on your girls foot and then where are you at?......i'll tell you....a very mad girlfriend and a broken cabinet on the floor...anyways.....i really hope this helps...and as my dad always said...and he said it alot to cuz i didnt listen to reason in my younger days...do it right the first time and you wont have to do it again.....so with that said, im gone...have a good day and when you hang your cabnet make sure you have fun doing it...really :D....take care of your planet, and have fun

Depending on how far back the wall is, you could either use coach screws (long) or screw just into the plaster with more screws and not over load the cabinet. If it is just a few bottles and pots, you should be fine.

You can use thunder-bolts from any builders merchant and they come in many different lengths and thicknesses and are quite reasonable. You will need a drill to drill into the brickwork/masonry.
