Why do people say this?

People keep telling me I will make a good mom one day and I will "meet the man of my dreams" someday. I have absolutely no desire whatsoever to be a mom, and I am a realist as well. Which means I don't believe in stuff like "the one". I try to tell them this but they laugh at me. It's annoying because I mean what I say. I think it's good I know myself well enough to know I won't be a good mom and that this world is not a good place to bring a child into. I'm content and I like being solitary.

I think the reason why people say this to you, is because that's what they're used to. It might be their goal or dream, and in some sort of way they're projecting it on to you believing that's what you want too. What I would tell you to do is don't take it personally, they're not intentionally trying to annoy you, I bet they just want something to talk about, something they enjoy. Also what you might this can be totally different from other people's opinions, so put your self in their shoes, they might be annoyed by the fact that you think bringing a baby in to this world is horrible and etc. Just be yourself, it's the most important thing to remember, they won't govern your life so just laugh with them the next time you bring it up. You choose what you want to do, and whatever you choose it'll be pretty awesome. :)

Its good that you are aware that there is no "the one" , If u r lucky u will find som1 whom u connect best with and who feels the same about u. Well wishers are the ones who say such things to u so that u wait for a great guy and do ur best when u become a mom
