Male Model Waist Size vs. Pants Size?

When male model profiles show waist size as 32", for instance, is that referring to pant size or the actual tape measured waist? A pant size of 32" can accommodate up to a 34" tape measured waist size, sometimes 35".

I would imagine most simply use their pants size. But why do you care about one's waist size?

Athame is incorrect. The pant waist size that is listed as in 34 x 32 is actually 1-3 inches larger than stated so a pant with a marked 34 waist is actually 35-37 when measured.

Men's pants size = Waist size.

It may slightly differ with brand or manufacturer.

But generally pants sizes are WaistxLegLength.

As an example, my waist size is 34", but I am relatively short. So I wear 34x29.

There are also different types of fits with men's pants. With slimfit you might want to go up a size. With relaxed fit you may want to go down a size. It really depends.

The waist develops over youth. You may be at a factor the place your hips and waist are still about the same, so the estimates of the manufacturers are made for utterly developed bodies, not pubescent. Simply wear what suits and wait it out. Ultimately the whole lot will measure the equal :)
