What sponging technique is the best to paint my wall?
I want to paint my bedroom wall with a sponge method.(pastel purple sort of color) I saw about the classic sponging and the sponge-off. Which one looks better? Also am I supposed to put the darker color as a base or the lighter? Because everyone says something different and I would like to know which one is better.

Use the darker colour as the base. The lighter application will blend into the paint and look great. If you apply dark sponging onto a light base, it will stick out like dogs b..lls and every single error or inconsistency will be highlited.
My favourite method of sponging is the dabbing method. I always use sea sponges - they leave a much nicer texture and effect than ordinary kitchen/bath type sponges.
Dab your sponge into the paint, then wipe it off on the edge of your tin/plate whatever to remove as much as you can. Start dabbing - either a design or simply all over - your wall. When the paint starts to get too faint, apply more. Try to work out how many 'dabs' you can get out of each paint application, so you can keep your paintwork consistent. Unless of course, you like the darker and lighter 'dabs' effect.
