Help with period pains? Please!?

Okay, I have really irregular periods and it's been 10weeks since my last... I have exams during the next 2 weeks and I'm stressed about those... With both stress and the fact that I haven't had a period for ages, this one is killing me.

It started yesterday morning around about 12 and it has been heavy ever since. Normally, it's just the first day that I have killer cramps, but today is just as bad... I slept last night with a hot water bottle and dosed up on ibuprofen and when I got up this morning I had a Solphadeine Plus, which normally lasts me until the afternoon. However, it's been about 2 hours since I took it and the cramps are back, painful enough to make me cry...

I don't know what to do, I need to revise for my exams, but all I can do is curl up and cry because I'm in so much pain... I'm having to change my pads at the latest every 2 hours (normally I'd use tampons but today they just make the cramps worse)

I'll try ANYTHING, so please, help me, I'm dying here :(

are you sexually active? if you are and your on microgynon 30, thats supposed to help. im 14 and im sexually active and they control your periods and theres little pain. if your not having sex, microgynon 30 will help still. book an apointment at the doctors (you dont need your mum if you live in uk, dont know about u.s) or talk to your mum and explain that you dont want them for sex, you want them for cramps. you could also take the mini pill. (see doctors??)

hot water bottles, iburprofen & paracetamol at the same time, warm cups of tea, nurofen, heat strips, voltarol, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), excercise, contraceptive pill, bath, shower, massage, relaxation teqniques,

    http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Periods-painful/Pages... <--- this might help:)

Source(s): i got awful cramps before i started using contraception for protection against pregnancy, but it helps with periods. the methods i suggested helped when i had bad cramps.
