If you kiss someone who used to have a cold sore, will you get the cold sore germ?
This guy i hang out with had a cold sore last week. At least, i think it was a cold sore, because it was on his lip, not around his lip but on it, and it was big, inflated, and yellow. He doesn't have it anymore but if i kiss him this week or whenever because he doesn't have it anymore, will i get the germ? the cold sore germ or whatever that was?

There is a possibility of catching the infection if the cold sore is due to the herpes virus. The area is infectious slightly before outbreak of the sore and slightly after. Google "Herpes Simplex". You will have more accurate answers than you will get here.

no you wont --- even when its there the risk of catching it is about zero ---- this i can say with certainty ---- i have cold sores and my wife (in 30 years of kissing) never caught it --- especially as it has healed
