Jehovah's witnesses, out of curiosity why do you?

Disobey the Governing Body and come on yahoo, YouTube and comment on posts that are clearly apostatizing your faith?

They push this all the time in your publications and assemblies,

Taken from July 2011 Watchtower:

7 What is involved in avoiding false teachers? We do not receive them into our homes or greet them. We also refuse to read their litera- ture, watch TV programs that fea-

ture them, examine their Web sites, or add our comments to their blogs. Why do we take such a firm stand? Because of love. We love “the God of truth,” so we are not inter- ested in twisted teachings that contradict his Word of truth. (Ps. 31:5; John 17:17) We also love Jehovah’s organization, through which we have been taught thrilling truths—in- cluding Jehovah’s name and its meaning, God’s purpose for the earth, the condition of the dead, and the hope of the resurrec- tion. Can you recall how you felt when you first learned these and other precious truths? Why, then, allow yourself to be soured by anyone who would denigrate the organization through which you learned these truths?—John 6:66-69.

Update:

@Matthew lol your answering apostate posts ;) counts for the same thing.

It says for you to not even comment on their blogs, I'm sure that accounts for yahoo answers.

Update 2:

@mimi snap!!

Love your answer and you are exactly how i was.

I remember finding apostate material at a family members house, I was living with them and was cleaning that part of the home, which was my part to clean. I remember trembling

When I saw it and quickly went to the family member with it lol.

Needles to say I was a fool.

Well, I haven't been to "their web sites" or comment on the blogs of those who show a hatred for the truth.

Your shotgun argument would mean that we would go no where that someone might not have the same view of religion or hates our faith. That would mean that the door to door work, in which we talk to billions of people who have their own religion and think we are crazy lunatics for coming to their door. Some of them challenge our beliefs, citing their favorite scriptures.

So, those of us with a strong enough skin wander through Y!A, avoiding the known haters, and trying to find people that have serious questions about faith, religion and life. That is what we do in the door to door work, and truthfully, there are more people "at home" here in a given day than I usually find in a morning out knocking on doors.

Plus there are times that I will answer a stupid question, just for the fun of it. "A cat" had a question the other day that I answered. It was a silly question, and it was fun to answer it.

That is why too, when I see a new brother on Y!A I warn him or her to be cautious, just like the section in the article below states. The internet can be useful, but also dangerous. The same with driving a car, but I don't see many people walking for fear of being in a crash.

On another note, after checking your account, I don't hide my answers or questions. Anyone that wants to check out who I am or what I believe can clearly see me, by my answers.

Some Witnesses do come to sites like these and answer to apostates, but not all. For the most part, the Witnesses that come to the R&S section of this site come to answer the SERIOUS, ACTUAL questions and leave it that - so please, don't generalize. At the end of the day; we're humans with the ability of free will - allowing us to choose how to think and live for ourselves. Being a Witness doesn't take that ability away, it just trains you to use it better than the average Joe.

But honestly - Yahoo! Answers isn't ALL about religion questions, anyway. There are many other sections, that users can answer in. Same goes for YouTube. Sites like these are like shopping malls. There are a variety of different shops that are all housed under the same roof.

I'm only here because I'm a newly enlightened Witness, before my awakening,I wouldn't have dared to go to any sites discussing Watchtower doctrine...if by chance, I stumbled upon one, I would quickly move on, I'd tremble at the thought of discussing with 'mentally diseased ,proud ' apostates.. not even sharing a platform with them on a non-apostate website....I was obedient as was expected of me as a loyal to 'Jehovah's organization 'Jehovah's Witness.

The Governing Body has made it very clear that it does not endorse any sites discussing their doctrine as they are not under it's oversight..the Governing Body does not endorse independent Bible discussion/study groups even done by Witnesses alone...it does not endorse the idea of JWs learning Greek to verify the accuracy of the NWT or discussing it .....every JW knows that.

The Watchtower is constantly emphasizing the importance of being obedient to the Governing Body. ..

The 'new light ' July 15 2013 clearly says that one's spiritual health and relationship with Jehovah is dependent on recognising the authority of the GB as God's sole spokesman...to disobey the GB is to disobey Jehovah.

Since my awakening,I've come to see that there are many JWs ,including some elders, that really don't apply what they learn at the meetings, they just do as they want and make sure they are not caught..it's the same in this case.

It is therefore very interesting ,intriguing to see Witnesses here busy defending an organisation that has clearly said it does not need them to do that. .

    Isn't it quite presumptuous?

    Do their elders know it?

We know what the Watchtower says about presumptuousness and 'running ahead of Jehovah's organisation'.

And why are you on here...to dictate to others? If you were referencing actual articles, people would listen to you. We are not given hard and fast rules. What if one person finds it acceptable to go to a certain movie and another person would rather not. Are you saying that every single person must NOT go to that movie because there may be one word or one brief scene in it that is Unchristian? You might need to do some further Research on this subject.

I was wondering a similar thing earlier, I mean the witnesses that I have not blocked are free to answer my questions ( I block for 3 reasons, spamming my questions with links to a publishing company, calling me a liar with no proof, and If I suspect that you are a false reporter.)

When the witnesses answer my questions isn't that the same as associating with a known "apostate" and in its self a disfellowshipping offense?

All of these things are disobediences to the Org. but eventually it does lead the Witnesses to start thinking for themselves and to question the Governing Body which they should be doing openly and diligently.

all and all seing them disobey is a positive even though sometimes they are snarky about it

They do it because its a easy way to "count time" in their recruiting

    work .

So the real reason is purely self serving .

They do way more damage tpo their cause by their comments.

Their cultish answers just highlight to honest hearted ones how their logic is twisted.

they know they are not supposed to be here.

they need to make up field service time someplace.

maybe they are driven here to really find truth and they don't even know it.

God works in mysterious ways. And he will draw them close. Many jw's are genuine and trying to do the right thing, like Saul. No human can reach them. It will be Jesus that opens the eyes of the blind.

we must never stop praying for them, they are under a dark influence appearing as light to them.

Their hearts & minds are captive. Obedient to men, the publishing corporation they are faithful to.

There are a few "Witnesses" that post here frequently linking to JW friendly websites or another that loves creating YouTube videos.

Are these in harmony with what the Governing Body commands?

"There is no need for any individual to prepare Internet pages about Jehovah’s Witnesses, our activities, or our beliefs. Our official site presents accurate information for any who want it."

    -km November 1997

Witnesses always have excuses for their own behavior, why things like this don't apply to them personally.
