Doing a 4wd trip on crutches and bare feet. Anyone been in a similar situation?

I have been on crutches for a long time with an on-going foot injury and a nerve damage issue.and I try to just do everything I normally do. A friend has asked me to go on a 4wd trip over some farms at the weekend. He will be driving, my job will be opening and closing gates which I will have to do on my crutches and in bare feet.

Sorry to hear about your situation but I applaud your objective of functioning as normal as possible particularly with a bare foot on crutches. I also get around on crutches with my single foot frequently bare though I have not taken any 4wd trips per se. However when on vacation I sometimes don't bother bringing a shoe which forces my bare foot occasionally to accommodate a challenging surface. Luckily the sole of my foot is very well calloused and I usually have no problem. I assume that also may be true in your case because of your barefoot crutch use and therefore you should not have any major problems on your trip.
