It'd probably boost her self esteem big-time as well, if everyone else thinks she's ugly, chances are she hates herself too. If you fancy her, ask her out. Everyone has different opinions, and i don't think it's weird at all, after all, none of my friends like my boyfriend, but i think he's perfect.
