Why Does Nickelback Suck?

well. idk. I guess when a large group of popular people express their disdain for a certain person, group, or in this case musical group... it's usual that anyone else that wants to A) be accepted into that "popular group" or B) doesn't want to be grouped in the "unpopular group"... will accept the same views and beliefs as the group. in this case it's the belief that Nickleback sucks!

it's the same thing with JB, nicki minaj, and any other musical artist. but what people don't realize is that there are also a large amount of fans for Nickleback, beiber, and minaj.... it's just easier to hate something than it is to love it and not be accepted by society.

Nickelback Sucks

I can't say all of Nickelback sucks. It's true, their latest stuff is extremely unoriginal and stale. And yes, their lead singer sounds constipated all the time. But if you look into their older material, the feel isn't half bad. Their first CD "Curb" put out in 96 has a post grunge feel to it. It's not half bad. Their CD after that "The Long Road" reminds me of some of the older Sevendust songs. True, then they became commercial, on the radio, etc and ruined what they once had. But sometimes you need to look at a band for what they were instead of what they are. Good example of that is Guns n Roses, or Weezer.

Nickelback is hated by people because of the fact that they are massively huge and also they are Post-grunge and doing a genre that many has done. Nirvana are popular and the reason why they aren't hated is because Kurt Cobain is dead and also, they brought a new fresh genre called Grunge to the mainstream. Nickelback is massively hated by many people because they are extremely popular and they are just another post-grunge band that is originally picking up the roots where Nirvana and many others left off and also, the older post-grunge bands that were there before Nickelback got massively huge.

If Nickelback was underground, nobody would hate them but since their songs are played all over the radios, that make people hate them and many, I say many followed the trend.

Nickelback aren't a terrible band, they just get played all over the radio stations. If they didn't nobody would hate them. All we need now for people to forget about Nickelback is a band that is hugely popular and gets all the songs to the radios and also, they have to become more popular than Nickelback, than the haters can forget all about Nickelback.

They don't sound good to me. I never liked them from the start!

It's really because Nickelback plays watered down and sappier version of " Post-Grunge" music and they don't have a lot of diversity in their music. (I don't consider them anywhere near Grunge though. They were inspired and evolved or devolved from Grunge.) Nickelback is heavily formulated and unoriginal as well. They are in a "box." They don't really experiment. Their songs all sound the same and are predictable. They have no edge.

I don't know if they force creativity but it sounds like it. They seem to focus on making albums that have hit songs more than saying,"Okay, let's make this album creative! Let's try something different and incorporate different styles! Let's stretch our creativity! Let's take a risk!" They never do that! Bands like Led Zeppelin and the Beatles always took risks and played music they wanted to play and they were always successful. Smashing Pumpkins is a another example. There are SO many examples throughout the decades that did that. Not Nickelback. They would probably fail miserably if they tried to stretch it out because they are sticking to a formula that is safe.

Plus they sound overproduced. I also bet if their guitar player plays a "cool mistake" in the studio they'd freak out about it, take it out, and punch in something that is so-called "perfect." Their studio songs sound too artificial. Their live stuff, from what I've heard and seen, doesn't sound exciting either. I don't like Kroeger's voice and I don't like their music.

That's why I don't like them.

Well, for one thing Chad Kroeger may be the worst singer since Peter Cetera. Really, he sounds like a dying walrus. They are also uncreative composers who use about three chords and recycle the same song over and over again. Not to mention their whiny woe is me lyrics are incredibly phony and annoying, it worked for Kurt Cobain because he had actual reasons to be depressed. He had bipolar disorder, a heroine addiction, and his fame went against everything he stood for. Plus Kurt Cobain and the rest of Nirvana were talented, charismatic, and creative. Chad Kroeger just comes off as that emo kid from high school who whines about his pain even though he lives in a first world country and has a great life. As you can see, I HATE Nickelback.

Everyone has different opinions and tastes. What's awesome to one person may be completely awful to another. I just say "live and let live"! Listen to whatever you want and don't worry about whether or not someone else thinks they "suck". I'm not afraid or embarrassed to admit that I like a few Nickelback songs.

I hear it everywhere, "Nickelback sucks!" and I don't know why. Their music is not terrible, and the lyrics have a lot of meanings in them like "If Everyone Cared", "If today Was Your Last Day", and "Gotta Be Somebody". Other artists like Justin Bieber...

People hate them because of the repetition in their music. The thing is I think they would be less hated if some of their underrated songs like Because of you would actually be somewhat played because it's their well known songs that gets them the hatred. I love nickelback but do agree that some of their stuff is stupid.

I'm pretty sure that people also say that Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj suck...

We say that because they have no musical or lyrical talent. Bieber and Minaj are generic pop and Nickelback is generic rock.
