Can anyone recommend a sewing machine, new or used, that has a 12 or 16 inch throat?
I am looking for a sewing machine for my wife that has a larger throat than normal. A used model will be fine. Thank you.

Are you talking about a home machine, something like: http://www.sewingmachinesplus.com/HandiQuilter-Swe... ? What does the machine need to be able to do? Or are you looking for an industrial?
In general, I tend to recommend that people stay away from giving someone a sewing machine unless you know the actual make and model they want. Like shoes, you may know the size numbers and even the brand, but there's no way to tell if they actually fit comfortably until the owner tries them on.
