I need help coming up with an idea to write about?

Step 1: Create and develop a male character and a female character. (Or two male/female if you are going for that)

Step 2: brainstorm things that can come between them.

Step 3: choose the best idea and make a story out of it.

Why do you want to write a story? Do you really want to write something or do you just want to have written something? Writing is hard work and sometimes inspiration is the toughest part.

The trick is that you can only write something that comes from you. Asking strangers on the internet what you should write is the same as asking them what you should think.

Try this: Write every day for a month or so. Free-journal, write about your past, write hopes and fears and dreams, rant, cry, tap into your deepest emotional depths.

If you write every day at the same time, after 3-4 weeks it will become a habit.

Best of all, you will start to see who you are as a writer. You may be surprised then to see that your very own writing inspires you. This can work. It takes time and perseverance.

there is no magic answer to write.

read a maximum about the genre you wanna do and the ideas gonna come to you easily.

it may be a story that you like and you can write it differently or a continuity of some idea that you see somewhere...

you already have the main story, you just have to come up with the introduction and the hook, then the solution to it.
