Actually, in French you could just say excusez-moi. That's excuse me, but pardon means more like "please don't be mad at me". You could also add excusez-moi, s'il vous plaît. Or if the person is younger excusez-moi, s'il tu plaît.
In my language (English) it's "forgive me".
EDIT: forgot to add that s'il vous plaît or s'il tu plaît means "please".
