Can People Get Depressed From Missing Someone?

My best friend is moving over six hours away. So, I guess I don't miss her yet, but the thought of her leaving hurts me to the core. Lately I have become sad all the time, I don't feel like doing anything anymore, and I cry all of the time when I think about it. Am I becoming depressed? And, I want some Back up or something to support y'alls answers..

It's very likely. Last year during the summer my best friend that lived right next door to me for 5-6 years moved 18 hours away and I became deeply depressed. I know part of it came from losing my dog but I was a bit depressed before and as time got closer to her moving I did feel depressed. I have experienced it but talk to someone you trust and don't try to hurt yourself in any way. I was so depressed I did things I'm not proud of and I hope you can find someone that can keep you happy during the time now and when they leave.

  • Yes you can get depressed from missing someone I know how you feel because I still kinda depressed from missing my best friend just try not to think about it to much or try to think about how she probably misses you as much as you miss her and there gonna be point where you guys can see each other I hope you feel better soon
