How many cups makes 2/3 full for one pan of batter?

I am making a three layer cake that says to use three round (9") pans. How many cups makes 2/3 full for one pan of cake batter? So the batter can be divided evenly. Thanks!!

A nine inch round cake pan typically has a volume of 8 cups.

If you want to fill one pan 2/3 of the way full, you'll need 5 cups + 1/3 cup.

The total cups you'll need to fill three pans 2/3 of the way for each pan is 16 cups. Have fun!

There must be course on the thank you to make cupcakes with the cake recipe. If no longer, it is ideal to apply cupcake paper liners crammed some million/2 to 2/3 finished. Bake at same temp as cake yet for shorter time. attempt with toothpick after quarter-hour or so and each jiffy after that til the toothpick comes out clean. stable success!

If it's intended to make three layers I would think one third of the total.
