I don't think it is romantic at all if you are making yourself tear up...I think if you really love the girl and are naturally romantic or prone to crying than that's one thing. But to make yourself cry to appear romantic is ridiculous. Just the effort alone is a nice gesture, you don't need to dramatize it.
