Who was worse, Hitler or Stalin, and why?

Tough one. I'd have to say Hitler, though Stalin would come an extremely close second...

I think Stalin.

I’m by no way condone what Hitler did but:

#1. He got many of his ideas from the US and the British eugenicists.

#2. I think he was truly trying to improve things for his own people.

Hmm, i think Stalin killed about 40 million of his own people, had larger slave camps and a police state apparatus that lasted decades longer than hitler. As well, his satellite countries included hundreds of millions more than hitler.

Hitler. Stalin technically killed more, but he also did so over a much longer time in power. Hitler's death toll was concentrated, and had he not been deposed, he would have killed ALOT more.

Stalin by far. Much higher death toll and communism was an internationalist theory whose branches spread well beyond the Soviet Union, whereas Nazism was a nationalist movement particular to Germany and German speaking regions.

That all comes down to your meaning of "worse" it is completely subjective this.
