photoshop question help?
Okay. So I am trying to make a little gas/pocket money by doing some graphic design work. I took a full year class on the subject and my school was apperently a little behind with times because I learned on the photoshop cs4.Im really good at it and really made some incredible stuff... I want to get a version for my own computer. After about the first time I googled "photoshop download", i found out I do not want to pay $700 for a photoshop software. I have $200 to spend.... and that's even a stretch! I just need some honest help about what to do. I found Adobe Elements 11 on Amazon for $109. wondering how this is if you learned on photo sop cs4. Please give me any advice or what you would do in my shoes. Any answers welcome and appreciated, thank you!
Also, would you say this program is better for artistic graphic design or more photo enhancement and editing... if that makes sense... sorry but thanks for the help

Photoshop Elements is not going to be sufficient to get you started in the graphics field. Photoshop, by itself, is not going to get you there.
You're going to find that requests from potential clients are going to outpace your capabilities very quickly. Even if you get the full-blown version of Photoshop. If you can't afford Adobe's Creative Suite, I wouldn't suggest advertising yourself as a graphic designer. You're going to be in over your head.
Maybe you should try earning money another way, save up for the full Creative Suite, and try putting yourself out there at a later date. I would say that you are not ready for prime-time yet.

Hi, Well there are many alternative to photoshop, as photoshop is most expensive software now a days and its latest version is also mroe expensive as they are not charging monthly subscription.
But what next you can use photoshop alternative which are best after Photoshop( Offcoruse no one can compete photoshop)
1) GIMP. ( It is desktop application and have many features)
2) PIXlR
3) www.photoshoponlinefree.com ( It is browser based photoshop Online it also turned about great )

Download GIMP. Its the respected, fully functional free alternative to photoshop.
Has all the same tools and stuff.
