What age should girls be allowed to wear thongs?

I'm 13, have been wearing them since 11 and a half. To be honest all it is is underwear with less coverage. That's all. So to be honest it doesn't really matter, there should never really be an age. I mean like unless you'r showing it off to random guys and all. Which would actually be slutty! There's a difference between actually being a slut and just looking like one. Although I don't really think thongs make you look like a slut. Lol it's not like people can see them under your clothes so it's fine!

I've always been very reserved and keeped things to myself so at 11 and a half I actually went and bought them myself. Then at 12 we were at a lingerie store and I said "oh hey I should try these out" even though I already wore them secretly for like 6 months XD

I totally get what you mean by them making you feel sexier. They just gives me more confidence and make me feel sexier. Plus they're more comfortable. If you do get them get the g-string kind where it's barely nothing. It's feels much more comfortable because you can't feel anything. Unlike ugly granny panties where they look ugly and give you wedgies.

If your mom surely won't allow you to have them then yeah go get them secretly, lol that's what I obviously did at first. But if not talk to her again, kinda tell her what I said. Tell her the reasons why you want to wear them. Ya know, not to be a slut.

Most girls now a days aged 14-19 wear thongs and i would guess 16+ is acceptable since you start understanding more about life, but let's look at what a women faces every time she wears thongs:

1) Small lacerations that can get infected.

2) Urinary tract infection.

3) Vaginosis: a vaginal discharge of any color; fishy odor; itching; swelling of the vagina; stomach cramps.

4) Can Cause Sterility.

5) There's not enough air or space around the vaginal area which causes a strong fishy odor.

6) A cyst can develop next to the vagina from the constant rubbing.

The female body is not meant to have a string running across and connecting the anus with the genital area. B. Streptococcal disease and e.coli are introduced to the open vaginal area and can cause an infection. The back and forth movement can cause this to happen over and over again. Your feces and anus oils are absorbed into the string running through the anus area and you run the risk of smelling like "***" all day. If you smell it, don't look at others, it's most likely you. Is this the price you want to pay to look sexy and have no panty lines too?

I had my first ones when I was 16 but I'd only ever wear them when I was wearing tight skirts etc. to avoid panty lines which was maybe 3 times or something.

When I turned 17 and became intimate with my boyfriend, I started wearing them more often.

I think if it's against panty lines then you should be allowed when you're 15. If it's to be sexy or something then 16 minimum.

Honestly its ok to want to wear a thong to feel sexy. And most girls start wearing them at age 14 for dance purposes or for hiding panty lines. Im 15 and i wear them cause i feel self conscious with panty lines. Just make sure that when you wear it its for you and no one else

It ALL depends on why you want to wear thongs...and if it's to avoid panty lines then I don't have a problem with that.

My mum bought me thongs when I was 15. She knew I wasn't getting them to impress boys or anything stupid, so she was okay with it.

You just need to explain to your mum why you want to wear them, and if she doesn't agree, wait awhile and then ask her again.

I wouldn't suggest going against her back and buying them or she might get upset and throw them away.

I never asked my mum, I just waited until we went to the lingerie shop to get some new bras and then I CASUALLY asked her if I could buy some. She was a bit hesitant at first because she said they aren't comfortable to wear (they aren't!!) and they aren't the healthiest thing either. But then I told her I really wanted to get a few just so I could try them out and she said okay!

Don't make a big thing, just be casual about it, and ask her from time to time and she'll eventually give in.

Just make sure if you wear them, wear them the right way. Which is to shave your vagina, so they fit nice and tight!

Thing and g string undies will make you bum look perkier, it will make it look more sexy...

Knickers with bottom tend to make the bottom look flatter than it has to be...

Having said that nothing wrong with wanting to look as perky as you can at 16 and having se x and being sexy...

If all women around you use things to make their bums as nice looking as possible why wouldn't you.

I would not let my 14 year old kid wear them but 16 is perfectly OK...

My children's dad was 18 when we met, I'd be a hypocrite expecting my kids not to have se x or wear thongs at 16.

i think that if you want to wear one, you should. your mum is just looking out for you and probably thinks that you are buying it for a boy. and she would probably get mad if she found out you secretly bought one when she said no. if you think it will make you feel better about yourself, then why not give it a go? or maybe you could ask your mum about buying some other underwear that looks sexy but isnt necessarily a thong.

I first wore a thong at 14, but not to look sexy. I wore it because I needed to with a pair of white shorts I had.
