How much do tattoos on feet hurt?
I'm thinking about getting a phrase tattooed on my foot, how much is that gonna hurt? Can you compare it to some other pain someone is likely to have felt, so I know what to expect! Thanks!

In short, yes it hurts. I have a tattoo on each foot. One is quite a bit smaller than the other. What made the difference is the artist. If your artist is heavy handed, or impersonal, it will hurt more. Make sure your artist is experienced in tattoos in delicate places, (feet, neck, sides of torso, underside of arms). They will know how to hold your foot in such a way that the twitches and jumps you will not be able to control will not affect their work. If your artist is friendly and knows what they are doing, they will chat you up and make you feel as comfortable as possible. This makes all the difference. The bigger tattoo I have did not hurt half as much as the small one, and it was because the artist was good at distraction and helping me feel more comfortable. The smaller one's artist just drew it up, and slapped it on. Its a great piece, but he barely said a word, and it was very difficult not to focus on the pain. Bring a friend, to help support and hold your hand. Use Aquaphor by Euricin available at any drug store and is cheap for the healing process. I give it to all my friends with fresh ink. Good luck and good ink!

first off - decide on the tattoo want. Then make about 10 copies of the picture. Put one on your bathroom mirror, one in your wallet, bascially where you will see it A LOT! If, after a year, you aren't sick of looking at it, then thats the tattoo for you. As far as on the foot, first consider your tolerance for pain. Also consider that it's all bone. Tattoos are more painful when they go over the bones. Also .. are your feet ticklish?! That's another thing to take into consideration. I have 3 myself (one of which I fell asleep during). My husband has 15. My husband's brother is our tattoo artist. He has a heavy hand, which will make a tattoo a bit more painful.

The top of the foot is one of the two spots where it hurts the most. Especially if you have bony feet, but it still hurts a lot nonetheless.

when my mam got a daisy chain tattooed on her foot, she compared the pain to having cigarette burns on her foot, because its a boney area, i would assume it would hurt more that like your leg or something :)
