Why do my questions keeping getting deleted?

I was looking through some of my old questions and I've noticed quite a few have been deleted. I didn't delete them myself and most of them I gave best answers. The questions I asked weren't against the rules so I don't understand why they were deleted.

Is there somebody purposely reporting them?

If you do not receive Violation Notices in your email then it is unlikely that your questions are being reported. If the Best Answer is reported and deleted the entire question is also removed. i would guess it is the Best Answers that are being reported.

Yahoo administrators do not look at them...

Did you get violations for them; if so, they were reported. If yo7 did not get violation notices then apparently the BA that you chose were reported and deleted; in which case your questions would disappear and you get no notice. If latter is the case you should start reporting answers that violate the guidelines instead of choosing them as best.

As * says, deletions of old Q&As most likely happen when someone is doing a sweep of resolved Q&As in a section and found violations, either in the question or Best Answer.

A skim of your old Q&As finds a few that are skating on the edge of chat violations of the "Do you ever <do whatever>?" / "What's your favourite <whatever>?" sort. That's probably what it's about.

there is not any actual expertise won from asking it Its a chatting violation some will say definite. some will say no. some will lie just to spare your thoughts. not something is won. in case you like it..it doesnt count what anybody else thinks. examine the community policies on the approximately tab esp Chatting violations

Without details impossible to know for sure, chat is the most common violation, read on.YA has community moderation, members report posts which they feel are violations which can result in deletion. The number of abuse reports before deletion depends on the "trust level" of the reporters. Usually all it takes is 2 or 3 "trusted" members although sometimes more and in rare occasions only one to report a post and the bots remove it.

Questions without answers are removed by Yahoo after 4 days 8 if you extended it or no best answer" won the vote. You don't lose any points.if it is voted NBA.. the asker will get points returned it never gets answers at all.. it just gets removed as expired and no point changes

Sometimes a post may seem very innocuous but can still be a violation. This may help you in the future. Here are a few very common violations .

    Solicitation:

    Chat:

Questions must be of interest to the community, avoid those solely of personal interest, they must be advice-seeking and /or knowledge-worthy. Asking for opinions or "what do you think" unless knowlege-seeking are pretty much always violations. as are always "rate" me type questions.

    Question and Answer format

Most common violations for not following the question and answer format are not attempting to answer the question as asked or posting a question but using that as a guise to make a statement of the asker’s opinions or rant.

    Cheating.

This from Yahoo. Our points system is meant to reward the community members for sharing questions and answers, so creating multiple accounts or posting content for the sole purpose of gaining points or soliciting others for points is not permitted. Posting filler answers to a question in an effort to be first to answer, or copying and pasting other members' answers, are also forms of cheating.

The Yahoo administrators look at old questions to decide whether they have any research merit to other users looking for answers. I'm guessing your question were of a personal nature and so only applied to you. This is why they are deleted. Some of mine were deleted for the same reasons but it doesn't mean you're being reported.
