Idea for my story plot please?

If you don't even have a general idea for the conflict of the story than the story is probably going to seem uninspired. Develop and experiment with ideas for this "nervous breakdown" while focusing on character development, which is more important. Many stories that are driven by strong plots fail to provide interesting characters. It takes a while to come up with good plots and conflicts, so don't waste your time thinking of original conflicts. Focus on character development and this will hopefully inspire you and give you an idea for the conflict.

David is killed gruesomely (decapitated, limbs cut off, etc.) in a car accident and Megan witnesses the whole thing but manages to survive. For months she has recurring nightmares about the scene of David's death, this begins her gradual descent into mental illness. One day she hallucinates at work, screaming and moaning and tearing around the office, knocking over desks and injuring a coworker. She is dragged to the hospital and confined there and her daughter Heather is taken away from her and put into foster care.

First I'd like to say you might not want her name to be O'Toole, because it is a little too book sounding. But for plot ideas, maybe one of her parents didn't die and just sort of abandoned her and she can't believe why, so she confronts the person. Or taking it to a whole new genre, maybe your main character dies but in the afterlife she doesn't want her daughter to suffer like she did so she tries to protect and help her daughter as a ghost. It could either be like a Tim Burton film or Wuthering Heights if you take this direction. This idea also brings emotional scenes between the daughter trying to convince her dad she has contact with her mom but the dad denying it....

Her loving husband never really understood her past. One day an armed robber attacks them. The robber(s) make the mistake of turning away from megan, only for a second. Megan savegly beats the would be robber putting them in the hospitaln barely alive.

Now her husband must come to terms with a past she never really talked about and he thought was eageration and metaphor. And after the attack megan begins to teach her daughter how to fight. "Just in case" when asked megan admits she had begun training when she was 2

Nonetheless once they enter the tomb they discovered that there is no treasures, its to late they are trapped within the tomb. Will they make it out or will they die.

Someone dies? Her evil foster sibling that used to hurt her when she was a kid comes back? She figures out her parents were murdered, instead of just dying?

- Give her daughter cancer

- Have her daughter get hit by a car

- have the husband tell her that he has been cheating

- kill the husband

- have one of her parents show back up reviling that he or she was never dead and wants to get to know her

Her daughter and/or husband dies, or somebody from her past comes back
