National anthem at Blue Jays games?
When the Toronto Blue Jays are on the road, do they sing both the American and Canadian national anthems or do they only do that when they are playing at home?

When I went to Vancouver BC to see a spring training game Blue Jays against the Mariners they played the Star Spangled Banner and then O Canada. When I was in Seattle watching the two teams they played O Canada and then the Star Spangled Banner. When I was in Vancouver during the Star Spangled Banner I saw a fan do a thumbs down. He was really lucky he wasn't sitting in front of me or he would have found some ice going down his back.

First ... The Blue Jays are a baseball team. You have posted this question in the Canadian Football category. Regardless of the venue of where the game is played, and this applies to all sports, if a Canadian team is involved, both the American and Canadian national anthems are played. If the two teams are from Canada, only O Canada is played. Likewise, if both teams are American based, only the Star Spangled Banner is played. Typically, players do not salute during the anthems. They'll just stand at attention. I dont think there is anything to "deal with" when an American-born player signs to play for a team in Canada. They know (or should expect) that it comes with the territory of having the Canadian anthem played. Getting paid millions of dollars a year, I can't think of one who complained that he had to listen to another country's anthem ... I can't believe I just answered this dumb question... oh well, 2 points for me

When a Canadian team plays in a US stadium or arena, they do play "O Canada" before the US anthem.
